About Cuphead

Cuphead is a run-and-gun game developed and published by StudioMDHR, released in September 2017. Following the reckless Cuphead and his brother Mugman, who gamble away their souls to the Devil and must repay their debt by collecting soul contracts from a cast of larger-than-life bosses across the whimsical Inkwell Isles.

The game is famous for its hand-drawn, cel-animated art style modeled directly after 1930s rubber-hose cartoons from Fleischer Studios and Disney, paired with a full live-recorded jazz big-band soundtrack. Its gameplay centers almost entirely on demanding boss fights that require memorizing attack patterns, parrying pink projectiles, and switching between weapons and Super Arts on the fly, with very little traditional platforming outside its run-and-gun levels.
