Important: Vampire Survivors stores progression (unlocks, achievements) separately from any in-progress run, so this save only affects your permanent unlocks — but you should still back up your existing Save1.dat before overwriting it, since Steam Cloud can otherwise resync your old file over the new one.
C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\vampire_survivors\Save\ (press Win + R, paste %appdata%\vampire_survivors\Save, hit Enter).Save1.dat and options.dat files by copying them elsewhere first.Save1.dat into the Save folder, replacing the old one.Save format: The save file stores your permanent collection progress — unlocked characters, weapon/evolution history, Arcana and Relic discoveries, Adventure map completion, and achievement flags. It does not contain an in-progress run (Vampire Survivors runs are single-session and end when you die or the timer runs out), so loading this save simply unlocks everything for future runs; it won't resume or replace any specific playthrough.
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\vampire_survivors\Save\, with the main file named Save1.dat. Steam App ID 1794680.Save1.dat and that it's in the correct Save subfolder, not the parent vampire_survivors folder.Vampire Survivors is a roguelike "bullet heaven" game developed and published by the Italian indie studio poncle (led by Luca Galante), first released in early access in December 2021 and reaching version 1.0 in October 2022. The game became a surprise viral hit, praised for its addictive, minimalist gameplay: you move a character around an arena while your weapons attack automatically, collecting experience gems from defeated enemies to level up and choose from randomized upgrades, all while the screen fills with hundreds — eventually thousands — of enemies. Its runaway success is widely credited with popularizing and naming the "survivors-like" genre that followed.
Progression in Vampire Survivors happens on two tracks: individual runs, which last roughly 30 minutes and end when the clock runs out or your character dies, and permanent meta-progression, which persists between runs. The permanent layer includes unlocking new playable characters (each with unique starting weapons and passive bonuses), discovering weapon evolutions (combining a maxed weapon with the right passive item), collecting Arcana cards that dramatically change run rules, and finding Relics that grant global bonuses. A fully "complete" account has explored all of this: every character, every evolution, every Arcana, and every Adventure map.
The game has been steadily expanded with paid DLC packs — Tides of the Foscari, Operation Guns, Emergency Meeting (an Among Us crossover), Le Vamp, and Ode to Castlevania — each adding new maps, characters, weapons, and enemies, alongside frequent free content updates. Between the base game and DLC, there are now 40+ characters and well over 100 weapons and passive items to discover, making full completion a genuinely long-term goal even for a game built around short, replayable sessions.
