Important: This save replaces your permanent unlock/preferences data, not an in-progress climb — any run currently in progress when you overwrite these files will be lost, so finish or abandon your current climb (or back up the saves folder separately) before installing.

What persists between sessions is unlock progress (in the preferences folder, included here) and any single in-progress, unfinished climb (in the separate saves folder, not included, since that's meant to be your own active run).

Steam App ID 646570.Slay the Spire is a roguelike deck-building game developed by the two-person studio Mega Crit (Anthony Giovannetti and Casey Yano), released into early access in November 2017 and reaching full release in January 2019. It's widely credited with popularizing and refining the deck-builder-roguelike hybrid genre, combining Dominion-style card-building mechanics with a climb structure: players fight through three floors of a mysterious tower, building a deck of attack, skill, and power cards while collecting relics that modify the run, aiming to defeat increasingly difficult bosses and ultimately the Corrupt Heart at the top.
Each of the four playable characters — Ironclad (a straightforward strength-and-block warrior), Silent (a poison-and-shiv rogue), Defect (an orb-manipulating construct), and Watcher (a stance-based monk) — has its own entirely separate card pool and relic pool, giving each a distinct playstyle and forcing players to re-learn strategy from scratch. Progression is split between individual runs, which typically last 45-90 minutes and end in victory or permadeath, and permanent unlocks that widen the card and relic pool available in future runs as you win more.
The game's signature difficulty system, Ascension, adds twenty stacking modifiers (tougher elites, less starting gold, fewer max HP, and more) that veteran players climb through to keep testing their mastery long after unlocking everything. Between all four characters' card pools, shared relics, potions, and the Ascension ladder, reaching genuine 100% completion — every card seen, every relic found, Ascension 20 cleared with all four characters — is a mark of serious mastery that most players spend well over 100 hours pursuing.
