The path follows the same Documents\My Games pattern used by FF7 Remake, FF16 and other recent Square Enix PC titles.Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an action RPG developed and published by Square Enix, originally released on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024 and ported to PC via Steam on January 23, 2025. It is the second part of a planned trilogy remaking the legendary 1997 Final Fantasy VII, following 2020's Final Fantasy VII Remake. The story picks up immediately after the escape from Midgar, sending Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie and Cait Sith across a vast open world in pursuit of Sephiroth.
Rebirth dramatically expands the scope of Remake — featuring 14 chapters spread across seven distinct open-world regions including Grasslands, Junon, Corel, Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, Nibel and the Meridian Ocean. The game adds a deep minigame ecosystem across all regions, the Queen's Blood card game, piano performances, Chocobo exploration and breeding, and the Gold Saucer with its Musclehead Colosseum and dozens of unique attractions. Chadley's Combat Simulator expands into Brutal and Legendary tiers that represent the game's most demanding combat challenges.
Full 100% completion requires two playthroughs — a first run on any difficulty followed by a Hard Mode playthrough — plus completing all 169 World Intel, 36 Odd Jobs, all Chadley simulations, all minigame highscores and fully stocking Johnny's Treasure Trove. The in-game Play Log tracks completion across two categories (Exploration and Combat) and is estimated at roughly 200 hours for full completion, making this one of the most content-dense JRPGs released in recent years.
