Steam App ID is 1687950.Persona 5 Royal is an expanded version of Persona 5 (2016), developed by Atlus and published by Sega. Originally released in Japan in October 2019 and worldwide in March 2020 for PlayStation 4, it came to PC via Steam on October 21, 2022. The game follows Joker — a high school student placed on probation after a false accusation — as he and his friends form the Phantom Thieves of Hearts to change the corrupt hearts of adults in Tokyo by infiltrating their distorted subconscious worlds, known as Palaces.
The Royal version significantly expands the original with Semester 3 — a new third act unlocked only on the True Ending path. This adds Maruki's Palace (the ninth and largest dungeon), Kasumi Yoshizawa as a fully realized new party member and Confidant, Goro Akechi's extended story arc, new Will Seeds collectibles in every Palace, a new Velvet Room mechanic, and revised Confidant events for several returning characters. The Confidant system — functioning like Persona 4's Social Links — tasks players with building relationships with 25 characters across Tokyo, each unlocking Arcana-specific fusion bonuses and unique abilities.
Achieving 100% completion in a single playthrough — earning all achievements including the True Ending — is one of the most demanding calendar management challenges in JRPG history. Every day from April through March must be allocated optimally: Confidant hangouts require matching Arcana Personas, social stats gate key Confidant ranks, and Mementos must be cleared between Palace deadlines. The Reaper, all Will Seeds, all Velvet Room executions and Jose's full Mementos cognition system add further layers to an already dense 100–130 hour journey.
