Important: Icarus ties character and Talent data to your own SteamID64 subfolder — you must place these files inside your matching SteamID folder or the game won't recognize them. Back up your existing PlayerData folder first, and note that individual Prospect sessions are timed drops, so open-world timers may already be expired on import even though your character and Workshop progression carry over.
%LocalAppData%\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\ and open the subfolder matching your own SteamID64.Character vs. Prospect data: Icarus separates persistent character/Talent progression (which carries across every drop) from session-based Prospect data — Open World runs, Outposts, and story missions, which reset once a drop ends. This save includes both, so your Talents and Orbital Workshop upgrades stay intact, and the included Prospects are marked completed on import.
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\[SteamID]\, split into subfolders like SaveGames, ExtraData, and PlayerData. Steam App ID 1149460.Icarus is a session-based survival game from RocketWerkz, the studio founded by Dean Hall (creator of DayZ), released in December 2021. Set on the fictional exoplanet Icarus, the game centers on "drops" — timed expeditions to the planet's surface, called Prospects, after which you must extract before the session ends or lose your gear.
Progression is split between the persistent (Talent trees and the Orbital Workshop, both carrying across every drop) and the temporary (whatever you build and craft during a single Open World, Outpost, or Mission session). Since launch, RocketWerkz has added new biomes, mission types, and story content through expansions such as Styx and the New Frontiers update, expanding the planet's map and the range of available Prospects.
Reaching full completion means unlocking every Talent across all seven trees, maxing the Orbital Workshop by investing enough Exotics, and clearing the spread of story Missions and Prospect types on offer. Because individual drops are time-limited, most of that long-term progress is banked in the Talent and Workshop systems rather than any single session — reaching it legitimately typically takes 150+ hours across many separate drops.
