How to Install

Important: Back up your existing SaveGames folder before replacing anything, and close Grounded completely before copying files.

About Grounded

Grounded is a survival game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, released into full 1.0 in September 2024 after two years in Early Access. Players are shrunk down to the size of an ant and dropped into a suburban backyard, now a sprawling, hostile wilderness full of giant insects, arachnids, and hidden science lab remnants.

Progression revolves around Chip's Lab, an AI research station that analyzes collected resources to unlock new crafting recipes, tool and armor tiers, and base-building pieces. The story follows the mystery of what happened to the family whose backyard the player is stranded in, unfolding through audio logs, environmental storytelling, and a chain of boss insects guarding each new zone.

Grounded supports up to four-player co-op throughout its full campaign, and the backyard itself is split into distinct biomes — the Upper Yard, the Sandbox, the Koi Pond, the Hedge, and more — each gated behind bosses and requiring specific gear to survive. Full completion means clearing every boss, maxing the research tree, and having explored the entire yard from the grass roots to its uppermost reaches.
