How to Install

Important: Control does not use Steam Cloud sync by default in the same way as some titles, but back up your existing savegame folder before replacing anything, just in case.

1
Close Steam and Control completely.
2
Navigate to %userprofile%\Saved Games\Remedy\Control\ (paste into Windows Explorer, or press Win + R and type %userprofile%\Saved Games\Remedy\Control).
3
Backup your existing savegame folder by copying it to your desktop.
4
Download and extract the .zip file, then copy the savegame folder into place, replacing the existing one.
5
Launch Control through Steam and load the included save from the continue screen.
6
Jesse loads in with the campaign complete, all DLC finished, and every ability fully maxed.
7
Head straight to the Ashtray Maze replay or Expeditions if you want to revisit the endgame content immediately.

Ultimate Edition and DLC: The Control Ultimate Edition bundles the base game with both story expansions — The Foundation and AWE (which ties into Alan Wake's universe) — plus all Expeditions endgame content. This save reflects full completion across all of that bundled content.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Control save file safe to use?

Where is the Control save file located on PC?
At C:\Users\[Username]\Saved Games\Remedy\Control\, inside a numbered savegame folder. Steam App ID 870780.
Is the Ashtray Maze included?
Yes, the Ashtray Maze sequence — one of Control's signature story moments — is completed, and it remains replayable from the main menu afterward.
Are both DLC expansions completed?
Yes, both The Foundation and AWE (the Alan Wake crossover content) are fully completed in this save.
Will this affect other players?
No, Control is entirely single-player, so a save file only affects your own game.

About Control

Control is a supernatural action-adventure game developed by Remedy Entertainment, released in August 2019. Playing as Jesse Faden, the newly-appointed Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, players battle a reality-bending threat called the Hiss inside the Bureau's shifting brutalist headquarters, the Oldest House, using telekinetic powers and a shapeshifting Service Weapon.

The game is built on Remedy's Northlight engine and is known for its destructible environments, dense environmental storytelling through in-world documents and live-action Federal Bureau of Control videos, and a genre-blending mix of third-person shooting and supernatural ability use. The Ashtray Maze sequence, combining a musical set piece with shifting architecture, is widely regarded as one of the decade's standout gaming moments.

Remedy supported Control post-launch with two story expansions — The Foundation and AWE, the latter directly tying into the Alan Wake universe and seeding Remedy's larger connected "Remedy Connected Universe" — plus the free Expeditions endgame mode. A sequel, Control 2, is in development.
