Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Death Stranding Director's Cut save file safe to use?
Yes. Death Stranding is primarily single-player, with asynchronous structure-sharing between players that isn't competitive. A save only affects your own game.
Where is the save file located on PC?
At C:\Users\[Username]\Saved Games\KojimaProductions\DeathStrandingDC\. Steam App ID 1850570.
What is porter grade?
Porter grade is Death Stranding's delivery rating system, scored per region from D up to S based on cargo condition, speed, and completeness. This save reflects S rank across regions.
Is this the same as Death Stranding 2?
No. This is the original Death Stranding (Director's Cut), a separate game and save file from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which has its own save file listed separately on this site.
Will this affect other players?
Structures you build can appear in other players' worlds asynchronously, but this is a one-way, non-competitive sharing system — using this save doesn't affect anyone else's account or progress directly.
Do I need to disable Steam Cloud first?
Yes, to prevent your new save from being overwritten by an old cloud sync on next launch.
About Death Stranding Director's Cut

Death Stranding is an action game developed by Kojima Productions, released in 2019 on PS4 before the Director's Cut arrived on PC in 2020 with additional content. Players control Sam Porter Bridges, delivering cargo across a fractured, post-apocalyptic America while avoiding invisible ghost-like Timefall creatures called BTs and reconnecting isolated cities to the chiral network.

The game's core loop is unusually focused on traversal and logistics — balancing cargo weight and balance across difficult terrain, building roads, ropes, and bridges that other players can also use asynchronously — a divisive but distinctive design that Hideo Kojima has described as building a "strand game" genre around connection rather than conflict.

The Director's Cut adds a combat/shooting range, a racetrack, a cargo-launching catapult structure, a buddy support bot, and extra story content expanding on the Fragile and Higgs subplots. A sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, released in 2025, continuing Sam's story.
