How to Install

Important: Disable Steam Cloud for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered before installing to prevent it from overwriting the new save. Back up your existing save folder. The game supports importing saves from the original Complete Edition — this save is native to the Remastered version and requires no import step.

In Steam, right-click Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered → Properties → General → disable Steam Cloud.

Download and extract the .zip file to your desktop.

Navigate to your save folder using Windows Run (Win + R): %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered\[your-steam-id]\

Backup your existing save folder by copying it to your desktop.

NG+ carries over all of Aloy's weapons, gear, skills, inventory and character level, making Ultra Hard significantly more accessible than starting fresh. All other 77 achievements can be earned on the first playthrough on any difficulty.

Is The Frozen Wilds DLC included?

Yes — and importantly, The Frozen Wilds is included by default in the Remastered version without any separate purchase. All Frozen Wilds content is 100% complete: all main story missions and side quests, all errands, Tallneck in the Cut overridden, all Control Towers disabled, all Hunting Ground trials with Blazing Sun, all three DLC-exclusive machine types killed (Scorchers, Frostclaws, Fireclaws), and all collectibles including Pigments and Animal Figurines. Note: Hunting Ground Blazing Suns in The Frozen Wilds are considerably harder, and it is strongly recommended to complete them on a normal difficulty save rather than on Ultra Hard NG+.

Are any achievements missable?

No achievements are permanently missable. The game allows free-roam after the final mission, so you can return and complete any outstanding open-world activities. The final boss area can also be replayed to re-trigger the allied defense mission if you forgot to recruit all optional allies beforehand. This save has all 79 achievements already unlocked.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is an enhanced version of Guerrilla Games' 2017 action RPG, remastered by Nixxes Software and released for PC in November 2024. Set in a lush post-apocalyptic world overrun by mechanical creatures, the game follows Aloy — a young hunter and outcast from the Nora tribe — as she unravels the mystery of her origins and the catastrophe that ended the old world.
