How to Install

Important: Subnautica saves are stored in numbered slot folders (slot0000, slot0001, etc.). Each slot is a separate save game. Disable Steam Cloud before installing, and back up your existing SavedGames folder first to prevent data loss.

1
In Steam, right-click Subnautica → Properties → General → disable Steam Cloud.
2
Download and extract the .zip file to your desktop. You will find a slot folder (e.g., slot0000) containing multiple .json files.
3
Navigate to your Subnautica save folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\
4
Backup your existing SavedGames folder by copying it to your desktop.
5
Copy the extracted slot folder into your SavedGames directory. If you already have saves in slot0000, rename the new folder to the next available number (slot0001, slot0002, etc.).
6
Launch Subnautica, click Continue or Load Game, and select the newly installed save slot. You'll spawn in your base with full access to all vehicles and blueprints.

Save structure: Each slot folder contains multiple JSON files that store different aspects of your game: world state, player inventory, base constructions, vehicle positions, story progression flags, and scanned data. All files must remain together in the same folder. The save is positioned just before launching the Neptune Rocket, meaning you can complete the ending sequence or continue exploring Planet 4546B indefinitely with all equipment unlocked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Subnautica save file safe to use?
Yes. Subnautica is a purely single-player game with no online components, leaderboards, or anti-cheat systems. Using a downloaded save file carries zero risk to your Steam account and does not violate any terms of service.
Where is the Subnautica save file location on PC?
Saves are located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\. Each save is stored in a numbered slot folder (slot0000, slot0001, etc.) containing multiple .json files. Steam App ID 264710. If Steam Cloud is enabled, a backup copy may also exist in your Steam userdata folder.
Are all blueprints unlocked in this save?
Yes. Every blueprint in the game is unlocked, including all three vehicles (Seamoth, Cyclops, Prawn Suit), all vehicle upgrade modules (depth modules MK1/MK2/MK3, sonar, storage, shield, thermal reactor, grappling arm, drill arm, torpedo arm), all base components (multipurpose rooms, moonpool, scanner room, bioreactor, nuclear reactor, modification station), all tools (Habitat Builder, Scanner, Repair Tool, Laser Cutter, Propulsion Cannon, Stasis Rifle), and all endgame equipment including Ion Power Cells and Ion Batteries.
Is the Neptune Rocket completed?
Yes. All five Neptune Rocket components (Neptune Launch Platform, Rocket Stage 1, Rocket Stage 2, Rocket Stage 3, and Neptune Gantry) are fully constructed and assembled at the launch site on the Floating Island. The rocket is ready for final launch. The save is positioned just before departure, allowing you to experience the ending sequence, launch your Time Capsule, or simply continue exploring with complete freedom.
What is the hardest part of 100% completion in Subnautica?
The most challenging aspects are: navigating the deep and dangerous Lost River and Inactive Lava Zone/Active Lava Zone biomes (requiring depth-upgraded vehicles and careful resource management), locating all hidden Ion Cube deposits and Precursor caches, collecting every PDA databank entry (many are tucked in wrecks or cave systems across the entire map), scanning all fauna including aggressive leviathan-class creatures (Reaper, Ghost, Sea Dragon), gathering the massive material requirements for the Cyclops (plasteel ingots, enameled glass, lubricant) and Neptune Rocket (over 1000+ individual resources), and finding all five Cuddlefish eggs scattered across the map.
Can I still explore after using this save?
Absolutely. The save is designed for maximum freedom. You have full access to the Seamoth, Prawn Suit, and Cyclops (all with depth upgrades for deep exploration), all biomes remain accessible, no permanent world changes have been made, and you can continue building additional bases, breeding fish in Alien Containment tanks, farming plants, scanning remaining creatures, or exploring indefinitely. The rocket launch is completely optional — you control when (or if) you choose to leave Planet 4546B.
About Subnautica

Subnautica is an open-world underwater survival game developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, released in January 2018 after several years in Early Access. Players crash-land on alien ocean planet 4546B and must explore, gather resources, build bases, and uncover the mystery of what happened to the planet's previous inhabitants — the highly advanced Precursor race — while searching for a way to escape. The game features a massive seamless world spanning surface biomes like the Safe Shallows and Kelp Forest down to extreme depths including the Lost River (600-900m) and the volcanic Lava Zones (1200-1500m).

Progression is driven by scanning fragments to unlock blueprints, which allow construction of three major vehicles: the nimble Seamoth submarine (crush depth 200m, upgradeable to 900m), the massive Cyclops submarine (500m, upgradeable to 1700m) which functions as a mobile base, and the Prawn Suit exosuit with grappling hooks and drill arms. The story unfolds through discoverable PDA databanks scattered across alien research facilities, abandoned bases, and wrecks, revealing that the planet is under quarantine due to a bacterial infection called Kharaa, and the only way to disable the quarantine and escape is to cure yourself using enzymes from the Sea Emperor Leviathan.

100% completion requires exploring every biome, scanning all scannable objects and creatures (including dangerous leviathans like the Reaper, Ghost, and Sea Dragon), collecting all story databanks, visiting all Precursor facilities (the Quarantine Enforcement Platform, Disease Research Facility, Thermal Plant, and Primary Containment Facility), gathering Ion Cubes for endgame crafting, hatching the rare Cuddlefish companion, building the five-stage Neptune Rocket, and preparing a Time Capsule to leave for other players. Total completion time ranges from 30-60 hours depending on exploration speed and resource gathering efficiency. No content is missable — everything can be revisited.
