How to Install

Important: Back up your existing Saves folder before replacing anything. Mafia II: Definitive Edition stores the main story and every DLC campaign under one profile, so overwritten files cannot be recovered.

Download and extract the .zip file to your desktop.

Open your save folder: C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\Mafia II Definitive Edition\Saves\

Open the folder named with your profile ID.

Backup the existing files in that folder by copying them elsewhere.

Copy the downloaded save files into the profile folder, overwriting the existing ones.

Launch Mafia II: Definitive Edition and choose Continue, or open Chapter Select / the DLC campaigns from the main menu.

If the profile folder doesn't exist yet, launch the game once and start a new story to create it, quit, then repeat the steps. The ZIP includes separate saves for the main story and each of the three DLC campaigns.

About Mafia II: Definitive Edition

Mafia II: Definitive Edition is the 2020 remaster of 2K Czech's 2010 crime classic, released by Hangar 13 and 2K as part of the Mafia Trilogy. It follows Vito Scaletta, a Sicilian immigrant and war veteran who returns to Empire Bay in the 1940s and climbs the ranks of organised crime alongside his friend Joe Barbaro.

The remaster updates the game with higher-resolution textures, improved lighting and character models, while keeping the original's cinematic, chapter-based story spanning the post-war 1940s and the rock-and-roll 1950s. Classic cars, a period soundtrack and a sharply written gangster story have made it a fan favourite.

Full completion means finishing all 15 chapters, tracking down every collectible in Empire Bay and clearing the three bundled DLC campaigns. This save delivers that state instantly.
