Steam App ID 1426210.It Takes Two is a co-op-only action-adventure developed by Hazelight Studios and published as an EA Original, released in March 2021. It follows Cody and May, a couple going through a divorce who are magically transformed into dolls and must work together to find their way back to their human bodies, guided by a chaotic self-help book named Dr. Hakim.
The game is built entirely around forced cooperative play, with no single-player mode. Every chapter introduces new asymmetric mechanics and constantly shifting genres, from platforming and puzzle-solving to full mini-game sequences like tank battles, sports, and rail shooters. It won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021 and is widely regarded as one of the best cooperative games ever made.
Director Josef Fares, also known for A Way Out and Split Fiction, built the game around EA's Friend's Pass, letting one purchase provide the full two-player story experience for free.
