How to Install

Important: Back up your existing savegame folder first. DOOM also keeps a Steam Cloud copy, so disable Steam Cloud for the game temporarily or your old progress may be restored.

Download and extract the .zip file to your desktop.

Open your save folder: C:\Users\[Name]\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\savegame\

Backup the existing files in that folder by copying them elsewhere.

Copy the downloaded save files into the folder, overwriting the existing ones.

Launch DOOM, choose Campaign and select Continue or Mission Select.

If the save does not appear, check the Steam Cloud copy at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[SteamID]\379720\remote\ and replace the files there as well, with Steam closed.

Is this DOOM (2016) save file safe to use?

Yes. Only the single-player campaign save is replaced. Multiplayer and SnapMap progression are stored separately and are not affected.

Steam Cloud probably synced the old save. Disable Steam Cloud for DOOM in its Steam properties, copy the files again and relaunch.

About DOOM (2016)

DOOM is the 2016 reboot of the legendary shooter series from id Software. The Doom Slayer awakens in a UAC research facility on Mars, where Samuel Hayden and Olivia Pierce have been harvesting Argent energy from Hell — and the demons have broken through.

Combat is built around constant movement. Glory Kills restore health, the chainsaw refills ammo and a huge arsenal, from the Super Shotgun to the BFG 9000, can be upgraded with weapon mods. Each level hides secrets, Classic Maps from the 1993 original and Rune Trials that unlock powerful perks.
