How to Install

Important: Dave the Diver uses Steam Cloud by default. Disable it before replacing your save, and back up your existing save file first — it's named using your own Steam ID.

1
Close Steam and Dave the Diver completely.
2
In Steam, right-click DAVE THE DIVER → Properties → General → disable Steam Cloud.
3
Navigate to %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\nexon\DAVE THE DIVER\SteamSData\.
4
Backup your existing save_[SteamID].dat file by copying it to your desktop.
5
Download and extract the .zip file, then rename the included save file to match your own Steam ID before copying it into the SteamSData folder, replacing the existing one.
6
Launch Dave the Diver and continue from the loaded save.
7
Dave loads in with the story complete, the Almanac full, and Bancho's Sushi running at full capacity.

Filename matters: Because Dave the Diver names its save file after your own Steam ID, the game won't recognize a save file that isn't renamed to match — rename the extracted file before copying it in, don't skip this step.

About Dave the Diver

Dave the Diver is a hybrid diving-adventure and restaurant-management game developed by MINTROCKET, a studio under Nexon, released in 2023 to widespread critical and commercial success. By day, players dive into the mysterious Blue Hole to catch fish, uncover ruins, and fend off dangerous sea life; by night, that same catch is served up at Bancho's Sushi, the restaurant Dave helps run.

The two halves of the loop feed directly into each other — rarer catches from deeper, more dangerous dives become higher-value sushi ingredients that draw bigger crowds and unlock further restaurant upgrades, which in turn fund better diving gear. Around this core loop, the game layers in a lengthy, quest-driven story, a huge roster of recruitable staff and side characters, and dozens of catchable species logged in the Sea People Almanac.

MINTROCKET has continued supporting the game post-launch with free content updates and collaboration events, and Dave the Diver has been widely cited as one of the standout indie hits of its release year for successfully blending two genres that rarely overlap.
