How to Install

Important: The Witcher 2 syncs saves via Steam Cloud. Right-click the game in your Steam Library → Properties → General and turn off Steam Cloud before copying the files, and back up your existing saves first.

1
Download and extract the .zip file to your desktop.
2
In Steam, right-click The Witcher 2 → Properties → General and disable Steam Cloud.
3
Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Witcher 2\gamesaves\ and back up its contents.
4
Copy the downloaded .sav and matching .bmp files into that folder and confirm overwrite.
5
If saves do not show up, also copy them into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<steam-user-id>\20920\remote\.
6
Launch The Witcher 2 and pick the save from Load Game.

Want to import your choices into The Witcher 3? Copy the final save into the same gamesaves folder — The Witcher 3 reads Witcher 2 saves from there when you start a new game and choose Simulate Witcher 2 save → No (import).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Witcher 2 save file safe to use?
Yes. The Witcher 2 is a single-player game with no anti-cheat, so replacing a save carries no ban risk.
Where is The Witcher 2 save file located on PC?
Saves are stored in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Witcher 2\gamesaves\. Steam Cloud also keeps a copy in Steam\userdata\<steam-user-id>\20920\remote\.
Can I import this save into The Witcher 3?
Yes. The final save is placed after the ending. With it in the Witcher 2 gamesaves folder, The Witcher 3 offers to import it when you start a new game.
Which path is included, Roche or Iorveth?
Both. The pack includes separate end saves for the Roche and Iorveth paths so you can see both versions of Chapter 2 and the different endings.
Does it require the Enhanced Edition?
Yes. These saves are made on the Enhanced Edition, which is the only version currently sold on Steam and GOG.
Will it work with the GOG version?
Yes. GOG uses the same Documents\Witcher 2\gamesaves folder, so just copy the files there.
Do achievements unlock automatically?
No. Achievements trigger when the action happens in-game, so they will not unlock retroactively from loading the save.
About The Witcher 2

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is CD Projekt RED's 2011 sequel to The Witcher, later upgraded to the free Enhanced Edition. Geralt of Rivia, framed for the murder of King Foltest, sets out to clear his name and hunt the real kingslayer — another witcher named Letho.

The game is famous for its branching structure: a choice at the end of Chapter 1 sends Geralt down either Vernon Roche's or Iorveth's path, changing the entire second chapter, its locations and its characters. Combat is demanding and tactical, built around signs, potions, bombs and traps.

Seeing both paths and every quest takes two full playthroughs. This pack covers both, and its final save sets up your world state for The Witcher 3.
